Priorities for the development of the coal industry in the Russian Energy Week

In the first week of October, the Russian Energy Week Forum was held in Moscow. Within its framework, representatives of foreign and Russian delegations discussed the adaptability of the energy industry to changing economic conditions. The growth of energy consumption cannot do without changes in the coal industry.

The participants were addressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, identifying vectors for the development of the coal industry in the coming years. The head of state said the importance of joint efforts of countries to work on improving energy performance. He reminded those present that Russia is still one of the leaders in this direction. The President questioned the sincerity of the motives that advocates of decarbonization adhere to. In his opinion, the United Kingdom stands in the front ranks of those who are fighting to improve the climate by abandoning coal due to the depletion of coal deposits.
